Now I would like to begin with by commenting on the backlash created by the burning of Muslim the Holy Books by US soldiers. Of course it is shameful and unforgivable; to do such things. But how the Muslim world can attempt to hold such high moral ground; when they are just as guilty the same sort of things. Bombing Christian Churches and even their own Mosques. It broke my heart to see the destruction of those beautiful Buddha's in Afghanistan. How disgraceful! Reading this some people will think I am some sort of zealot; but no in fact I am an Atheist, but I will defend any ones right to believe and worship as they please. In fact strangely in some ways I envy those who the get comfort form their faith in time of sorrow and need. As I said (in being too old to worry) I am eighty one years of age and like so many older people I have change a great deal over the years. Although as a young man I had to do my National Service in the UK; at heart I have always hated violence. Never the less as a young man I used to say that the only cause i would willingly fight for was the a Jewish right to a home land. This was based on my emotions over the treatment of the Jews under the Nazi regime and in many other countries over the centuries. However; now, I am ashamed of the way in which they have adopted many of the inhumane things done to them and are applying them to others. In conclusion; I look with deep pleasure at young people of different creeds colours and religions walking hand in hand as friends. WHEN WILL THE WHOLE WORLD LIVE THIS WAY.
